Position Description

Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

 

 

The Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) in the Carson City office is recruiting for an Auditor 2 position. The incumbent performs specialized compliance audit duties for the Marijuana Enforcement Program and the program organization. The incumbent will conduct audits on marijuana establishments for compliance with the marijuana statutes and regulations, identify violations, conduct inspections as needed, document results and prepare reports of findings. Examples of areas for auditing include marijuana inventory compliance, security, adherence to restrictions regarding controlled access to restricted areas, storage of marijuana products, transportation, chain of custody of marijuana and disposal of marijuana. The incumbent will review facility policies and procedures and quality assurance programs to determine whether product services are being provided in accordance with applicable regulations. This position has a travel requirement of up to 50%. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, paid for by the applicant.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which included 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing, and one year of professional level auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education, supplemented by 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as an Auditor I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above, which must have included 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing.
