Position Description

Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements. The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange is the state agency that operates the online Marketplace known as Nevada Health Link where eligible Nevada consumers can shop for, compare, and purchase quality and affordable health insurance plans with ease.
 

The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange is seeking a Business Process Analyst I, in our Carson City location, who under the general direction of the Business Process Analyst 2 will be responsible for accurately researching and resolving data discrepancies within the Exchange's information technology platform by applying recognized data processing concepts to reconciliation process planning and analyses to ensure data integrity across external partners. The incumbent will perform a wide range of business analysis to improve business processes by managing the day-to-day technical system reconciliations between Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and health insurance carriers on the Exchange. The incumbent will be responsible for using principles, practices, and procedures required for designing and implementing information and data systems-based solutions. The incumbent will work with internal and external partners to document and define user requirements of the information system, will perform detailed analysis and reporting of incoming and outbound data, work with appropriate IT teams to develop and implement data transfers with business partners, support the reconciliation of data for regulatory reporting requirements, conduct quality assurance through verification and reconciliation of submitted data files.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and one year of professional experience analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included experience applying recognized IT/data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

  • Intermediate level Excel skills are required.
