Position Description

This is an IT Professional 2 position located in Carson City, NV. Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain and modify In-House, Vendor Created and For Purchase (COTS) applications.  Incumbents perform journey level to advanced journey level application developer duties including full SDLC processes, and application maintenance and enhancements.  Incumbents will perform all duties in conformance to the EITS Division’s application development standards.  Incumbents may be required to train and mentor other application development staff.  Incumbents will be required to perform system/software administrative duties including software upgrades, system upgrades, user creation and role establishment; fiscal and calendar year application updates, etc. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.  This position will be supporting and developing in a DotNet / Object Oriented / Multi-Tier environment - languages to include VB.NET / C# / PLSQL / T-SQL / Java / Web Methods and associated Windows operating systems (in support of these efforts).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

  • Programming experience with the following is required: ​​​​​​

    • C# or VB.net using Visual Studio 2017 or greater; 

    • Microsoft DotNet Framework 2.0 or above; and 

    • Relational database stored procedures.​​​​​​​
