Position Description

This opening is for a Health Care Coordinator 2-RN within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) District Office in Las Vegas, NV.  This position will utilize case management experience to apply to the management of children cared for in the home on the Katie Beckett Eligibility Option.  This position will oversee and assist with case support and assist in navigating the Medicaid services of children with medically fragile or with intellectual disabilities being cared for in the home; assess the level of care needed to safely maintain the home environment and assist with the services available within the Medicaid provisions for Nevada.  This position will also involve home visits for assessment of the child in the home environment at a minimum annually.  This position will involve the audit process for skilled nursing facilities of the Minimum Data Set.  Attainment of certification of this process would be necessary within the first year.  50% travel within the Southern Nevada area of Las Vegas, Mesquite, Pahrump, and Boulder City areas is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse and one year of professional experience providing case management services in a social or health related field; OR one year of experience as a Health Care Coordinator I - Nurse in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

  • Professional licensure as a registered nurse issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • Candidates must submit to background checks prior to appointment and fingerprinting upon appointment.
  • This position has a 50% travel requirement.
