Position Description

 

Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.

This position is located at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in the Human Resources office.  The incumbent will be responsible for payroll and related functions for NNAMHS and Lake's Crossing Center. Duties include reviewing and processing bi-weekly payroll; monitor personnel and payroll actions; research payroll discrepancies and process corrections for overpayments, underpayments, and leave accrual and pay progression errors; process workers compensation buy back checks; monitor special leaves including FMLA and CAT Leave; maintain payroll records; and complete necessary reporting as assigned.  Additionally, the incumbent will provide guidance and training to employees, supervisors, and managers on all payroll related topics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical experience that included extensive public contact and customer service, recordkeeping, document processing, and the application of policies and regulations; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
