Position Description

 

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics (RC) is recruiting for a full time Psychiatric Caseworker 1 as an underfill for a Psychiatric Caseworker 2 in our Winnemucca office.  Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics in 12 counties across Rural Nevada.  Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery.  Any position that requires licensure to provide clinical services must be maintained, without lapses and be in good standing with subsequent boards.  This position assesses people's needs for any medical, educational, social, or other services which can include vocational, financial (work), transportation and housing; monitors consumer and provider progress on care plan goals; referring consumer to appropriate services according to the plan of care in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 2500 and with state laws, Division policies and agency procedures.   This position understands housing/residential requirements, both at a state and federal level, and participates in meetings at the agency and clinic levels.  This position also provides Rehabilitative Mental Health (RMH) services, such as Basic Skills Training (BST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services as prescribed through licensed personnel and in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 400.  The position does require a Bachelor’s degree and/or the incumbent to be working toward the degree – examples of a degree are sociology, psychology, human development, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and one year of experience assisting professionals in providing direct client care and implementing treatment and/or service/care coordination plans for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
