Position Description
This is a Safety Specialist position located in Winnemucca. Safety Specialists for Mine Safety and Health conduct safety and health inspections at mines, both above ground and underground, mills, quarries, and related facilities; investigate mine accidents; conduct/provide training to mine employees; and provide technical assistance and consultation to mine operators. Incumbents may be required to use a personal vehicle to conduct State business. Working shifts other than 8:00 am to 5:00 pm may be required, including weekends. This position works within the Mine Safety and Training Section.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of technical, operational, or management experience in mines, mills, beneficiation plants, or smelters, one year of which must have been spent working underground.
